Apparently, the Pakistan Cricket Board has limited Australia’s upcoming tour of its country to four venues. Gee, that will make all the difference, won’t it?
I mean, if you wanted to cause some mischief, wouldn’t seeing the proposed March-April tour only taking place in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad just put you right off your stroke and wanting to do anything nasty?
Yes folks, the sarcasm meter is hitting a high today because, frankly, I don’t think the Australians should be touring the country in the first place.
Violence is escalating in the country – remember the assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto in December? – and an Australian cricket team would undoubtedly be considered as a target for any group wanting to make a statement. Can someone show me how it wouldn’t be?
I wouldn’t blame any Australian cricketer for not wanting to do this tour. One’s life is worth far more than proving a point and, potentially, getting blown up or shot in the process… just for a game of bloody cricket.
